Are connectors and swivels independent elements of the fall arrest system?
Paul-Henri Fleury: There are different configurations:
- or complete systems that include energy absorption systems, connectors and swivels;
- or independent connectors, with or without a swivel.
Delta Plus also offers independent, EN354-certified swivels that can be coupled with a fall arrest system to prevent twists and turns on the systems.
How does the Delta Plus range stack up in this respect?
Paul-Henri Fleury: As far as connectors are concerned, we offer ten or so products to meet the different requirements of working at height. We offer a complete range of connectors in different shapes (oval, pear, asymmetrical, large hook, etc.), with a variety of locking systems (triple or double lock, or screw fasteners).
These connectors are made of either aluminium or steel, and have different nose shapes - hook-type or with a rounded 'nose' (Keylock). They offer greater compatibility with other systems and help to avoid unexpected hook-ups with textile products such as ropes or straps.
Our comprehensive range means that these products can be combined with all types of solutions to meet a wide range of professional needs.
All our connectors and swivels naturally comply with the EN362 standard, which guarantees that the material is strong enough to support the weight of the worker in the event of a fall, and even much more than a fall: all are conceived and designed to offer a minimum resistance of 20 kN in the closed position, i.e. a resistance of around 2 tonnes (minimum), i.e. the average weight of a 4x4 vehicle!
