BOM and Delta Plus in Spain: a major international contract

BOM Vertical, a long-standing distributor and customer of Delta Plus, has been installing and inspecting collective and individual safety equipment for 17 years.

At the end of 2024, BOM and Delta Plus joined forces to respond to a call for tenders from three Spanish factories wishing to integrate a high-performance fall arrest system into the pylons they manufacture for various global markets in the telecommunications and energy sectors.

The Ladderail, a permanent fall arrest system, won them over with its value for money, and the contract was signed in early 2025:

To perfectly meet their specifications, we were responsive and made a few modifications to our standard model,’ explains Christophe Chausse, Systems Sales Director at Delta Plus.

The first third of the order has been delivered, with the rest to follow by early 2026. This order involves thousands of systems and a partnership that is expected to continue for several years.

This success comes at a time when telecommunications and energy production infrastructure, particularly wind power, are at the heart of major economic, political and environmental issues. Ensuring the safety of personnel working on these installations is essential to their development,’ adds Christophe Chausse.

Ladderail vertical lifeline: a solution designed for very great heights

Designed and manufactured at Delta Plus production sites, Ladderail is a vertical rail lifeline with unidirectional locking, designed for ladders, which can support up to three users.

Developed two years ago, Ladderail benefits from Delta Plus's solid expertise in fall arrest systems. Its failsafe design, which allows only one position for the trolley during ascent, prevents any errors in use.

To achieve this result, Delta Plus worked hand in hand with telecom and wind turbine operators, then mobilised its R&D department to best address their issues. Ladderail was born out of this collaborative approach.

At height, your life depends on the equipment you use.

That's why we have designed a product that is compact, easy to install

and safe for the operator,’ emphasises Christophe Chausse.

With this contract, Delta Plus has made Ladderail an international benchmark for safety at height.

In addition to its technical expertise and range of permanent fall protection systems, Delta Plus is also committed to training in working at height: discover the role of Alpic, a certified and recognised player in the wind energy sector.

What is a permanent fall protection system?

A permanent fall protection system is fixed equipment installed on a structure (pylon, wind turbine, etc.) to provide long-term safety for people working at height, such as lifelines or fall arrest rails.

At what height do we start talking about ‘working at very great heights’?

We generally refer to ‘very great height’ as 50 metres or above, but this threshold may vary depending on the country, sector and regulations.

What are the main risks when working at very great heights?

The main risks are falls from height, falling objects, vertigo, physical fatigue and exposure to extreme weather conditions (wind, cold, heat).

What equipment is essential for working at very great heights?

It is recommended that you equip yourself with a fall arrest harness, anchoring systems compatible with the installed system (lifelines, rails, etc.), a helmet with a chin strap, suitable clothing and, often, a communication and alert device.
